Mariam and Chad chose the Paine Art Gardens for their elegant destination wedding. Chad is originally from the Fox Cities and I had the pleasure of meeting him and his wonderful family a few years ago when I photographed his sister Lizzy's wedding. Fast forward a few years, and it's Chad's turn! He and his stunning bride, Mariam planned their wedding from Texas where they were doing their medical residency, so the first time I met Mariam was on her wedding day! I couldn't be happier for Chad, Mariam is a gem. She is light-hearted, incredibly kind, supportive and so loving; a heart of compassion just radiates from her!
I remember losing sleep over Chad and Mariam's wedding when, just weeks prior, winter storm Evelyn dumped 20+ inches of snow on the Fox Cities! These are the nightmares photographers have!;) In fact, the Paine Art Center staff was busy the week before replacing thousands of tulips that had been smothered by the blizzard! The grounds were exquisite for the day of the wedding. Trees in bloom, fresh green grass and leaves emerging from the trees, early flowers dotting the landscape, and the lovely tulips. It was like something out of a fairy tale and the most dreamy backdrop for Mariam and Chad's intimate and beautiful wedding. The couple exchanged handwritten vows in the garden, shared laughter and joy with their bridal party from near and far, and brought together cultures with a sprinkle of traditional Afghan dancing during the reception! We dodged rain drops for some of our portrait time, but I think it just adds to the secret garden feel of the gorgeous Paine Art Center gardens.
It was such an honor to be part of this incredible day and I wish Mariam and Chad a lifetime of joy together!
