Matt & Samantha - Downtown Appleton Wedding

Matt & Samantha are a super sweet couple I actually met several years ago as I photographed her good friend Lizzy's wedding in Door County. When she contacted me last year I remembered her mega-watt smile, gorgeous red hair and incredibly sweet, bubbly personality immediately! And she's got great taste in husband material, marrying Matt, a fun, doting, craft brew loving, low and slow bbq guy who adopted hiking and running just to be with her! How sweet is that?!

While they have since moved to Minneapolis, Matt & Samantha chose Appleton for their wedding to be near family. They said "I do" in the gorgeous old First United Methodist Church and then we headed down to the Fox River for pictures. This was an especially meaningful spot for the couple as that's the area Matt proposed! After one more stop at a spot I've been itching to use (the gorgeous oaks arching above!!) we headed to Pullman's so Matt and Samantha could enjoy cocktail hour with their guests. Tucked behind downtown Appleton, Pullman's is such a beautiful property being along the Fox River, so of course we took the opportunity for a few more pictures before dinner! Matt and Samantha are clearly so happy together, the big laughs, tender moments, so much love!

Let's talk for a moment about Samantha's dress! She totally revamped it, it originally even had sleeves! So elegant and unique she has amazing style!

It down-poured during dinner, almost extinguishing plans for sparklers later in the evening, but it slowed to a misty evening just in time! It was a magical way to end the night, the soft early summer air, twinkling sparklers, and friends and family coming together to celebrate Matt and Samantha!

Congrats, you two!

For the wedding, Samantha & Matt's rings were tied to a pillow made with part of Samantha's mom's wedding dress. I love meaningful little details like that!

I just LOVE cathedral veils! They add so much, they can be flirty, dramatic, & of course, so romantic!

We were supposed to do sunset photos but I checked the radar and we made the call to do a few more pictures just feet from cocktail hour. Matt & Samantha took all of the whoops from the crowd in stride then joined their guests for party time!

I just couldn't get enough of Samantha's incredibly elegant dress!

The newlywed shoe game is always fun for laughs!

I fell in love with sparkler exits for this wedding! What could be better than being surrounded by friends and family who love you as sparklers twinkle all around!
